Personal Branding Helps Your Company Online

Are you the owner or CEO of your company? If so, it certainly looks like your personal branding efforts will transfer clout to your companies presence and findability in search, leading to more traffic, engagement and sales.
One thing is for sure, people want to do business with experts, thought leaders and authorities on the Internet. If you are any of these, you can easily and naturally leverage your personal brand to help your company get more business.
The best way to build your personal brand today is by blogging, being in the news, having lots of friends and fans on Facebook and Google Plus, followers on Twitter, subscribers to your YouTube and Pinterest channels and gaining real LinkedIn connections.
I know that’s a lot to think about but consider this, as we enter 2013 there are over 100 social media sites that are currently valued at over $100 Million. Trying to be present in all of those… that is a daunting task and it is not realistic. But if you make some regular time each week to just do something in the ones I’ve listed: Your Blog, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Youtube and LinkedIn, that is enough to build and reinforce a strong personal brand online. Once you have these built up you can add to them some select, very niche forums activity and your company will flourish because it’s leaders have a trusted personal brand.
This approach accomplishes two important things:
1. People will see you in several places and begin to recognize you and if your activity is helpful to them they will look forward to hearing more from you because you are gaining their trust. They will want to know what your business is and will end up at your Website already having a sense of trust. This is real good for business, conversions and sales!
2. With 44% of how a site ranks in organic search now coming from social media triggers, it certainly looks like search engines are now favoring companies who’s principles (meaning owners and CEO’s) have a strong personal brand, for if people trust the owners why would they not want to do business with the companies associated with the trusted owners.
I believe that soon, any company that has neglected this important aspect of doing business, that is, the Chiefs have no personal brand built up, these businesses will become very illusive in organic search, especially for non brand key phrases.
So get busy with establishing and improving the personal brand of your key business personnel and reap the immediate and long term benefits from doing so. The moral of this is that if your companies executives shine in social media, your company will make more profits from your search marketing efforts!
